2004 Missouri Farmers Union Family Farm Opportunity Center College Scholarship

There are four $1000 scholarships available to students enrolled in a two or four year college during the 2004-2005 school year. These scholarships are made possible by a grant from the Edward Chase Garvey Foundation of St. Louis, Missouri.

To apply for this scholarship, write a short essay and include the following information:
• Need for scholarship money
• Agriculture background
• Leadership ability and achievements
• Academic achievement
• Career goals

Essays should include the desire of returning to a family farm operation or in some way support family farm agriculture in a rural community. Essays receiving consideration should also promote relationships between farmers, workers, and consumers. Future goals should focus on safe, sustainable production and processing practices.

The essay should be no longer than two pages, one inch margins, single spaced, and 12 point Times New Roman font. In the top left hand corner, include your name, mailing address, phone number, and college attending.
