Missouri Farmers Union Promotes Clean Energy for Jobs, Markets, and National Security

JEFFERSON CITY, MO (February 13, 2010) – Missouri Farmers Union President Richard Oswald announced a series of Renewable energy meetings in Northeast Missouri scheduled for March 8, 2010. The purpose of the meetings is to promote renewable energy and its benefits.

The purpose of the energy meetings is to inform Missourians that there are things we can do to help our country achieve independence from foreign oil. Right now America imports 60% of its oil needs. Conservation combined with biofuels from the farm will supply jobs and new investment to rural Missouri.

While Congress debates, America waits for energy independence.

Missouri's farms and ranches can help.
